It is a well-known fact that the cost of accidents, lost work time due to injuries, OSHA violation/citation penalties, employee morale issues, and worker related liability lawsuits have increased dramatically in recent years. As a direct result of these increases, companies are now placing much greater emphasis on the area of safety/risk management. In many instances, close attention to the Safety and Risk Management needs of a company can lead to significant profit improvement!
What would it mean to your bottom-line if your company reduced its safety-related losses by 20%, 30%, 40% or more?
Our Safety Review can help you do just that. This in-depth study examines the client’s vulnerability to loss primarily thru worker comp claims, accidents, injuries and OSHA citations/violations. Once we identify the client’s primary loss issues, we analyze the ways, methods, and programs used to deal with those problems. We take particular pride in the type of report document we present to the client. We are specific regarding our concerns and recommendations for safety improvement. Many of our clients refer to our report document as their “road map” to a safer work environment.
Our Safety Review starts with Pre-Field Research including an analysis of your company’s loss runs; and a review of current Safety Programs/Audits, and any Safety Committee meeting ‘minutes”. This gives us background information and knowledge prior to beginning the on-site field portion of the Safety Review.
During the on-site field portion of this project we personally visit select stores/locations, DCs/warehouses, and select areas within the Corporate/Home Office. During these on-site visits we conduct a detailed analysis of critical safety areas including: emergency evacuation plan; personal protective equipment (PPE); housekeeping standards (inside and outside the location); required federal and state safety training records; OSHA Logs; required hazard communication and lockout/tagout programs; emergency exit routes and access; proper handling of hazards and flammables; etc.
After completion of our on-site visits and reviews, we return to our offices to complete the report document which includes the client company’s safety strengths, opportunities for improvement, and our specific concerns and recommendations. Also included in the report document are Immediate and Short-Term Action plans to assist in obtaining a “quick start” process for getting your new safety program underway.
Some of the benefits of our Safety Review include: an annual reduction in the company’s losses due accidents, injuries and OSHA penalties; more effective utilization of “budgeted” safety dollars; better trained managers and employees; a safer workplace which improves employee morale and productivity; and a Safety Program which provides a major return on the consulting fee investment.
If you are not satisfied with your company’s safety results; question the cost-effectiveness of dollars being spent within the safety area; or wish to have outside expertise review of your current safety programs and strategies, give us a call at 813-991-5628, or visit our website at: www.hayesinternational.com and complete the “Contact Us” section and we will promptly contact you.
